The top high school seniors from Polk County Public Schools will be honored on Thursday, April 19, 2018, during the fourth annual Superintendent’s Scholars Awards.
More than 900 seniors have qualified for this award that recognizes their outstanding educational achievements. Superintendent’s Scholars include graduating seniors who have earned a 3.8 weighted GPA or higher by their seventh semester.
During Thursday’s ceremony, each student will have an opportunity to introduce themselves, announce their college or career plans, and receive a medallion to be worn at graduation later this year.
“We are immensely proud of our Superintendent’s Scholars Award recipients,” said Superintendent Jacqueline M. Byrd. “They have worked incredibly hard, they have dedicated themselves to the pursuit of academic excellence, and now they will graduate at the top of their classes. I look forward to celebrating them and their accomplishments.”
