More ways to keep up with the latest news from Polk County Public Schools:
April 22, 2016
Twelve high school seniors gathered together Wednesday, April 22 to share their insights with Superintendent Jacqueline M. Byrd over a delicious lunch prepared by Ridge Career Center students.
The Lunch and Learn program allows graduating seniors from across the district a chance to meet personally with the Superintendent and offer valuable feedback about their experiences in Polk County Public Schools. The students at this week’s meeting represented the high schools in the eastern half of the county. Topics that were discussed included college preparation, student representation and school discipline.
This is the third and final Lunch and Learn of the school year; others were held in Bartow and Lakeland earlier in the school year.
Thank you to everyone who participated: Payton Gary (Auburndale High), Rocel Balmes (Haines City IB), Levin Besing (Haines City IB), Tomi Thomas (Haines City High), Andrew Grant (Haines City High), Jordan Williams (Lake Region High), Emily Alexander (Lake Region High), Jiann Russell (Ridge Career Center), Edgar Martinez-Perez (Ridge Career Center), Emily Gabriel (Ridge Community High), Jordan Gamache (Ridge Community High) and Casey Hanna (Winter Haven High).
