New Polk County Public Schools Administrators Announced

July 27, 2016

The Polk County School Board approved the following appointments by Superintendent Jacqueline M. Byrd during the School Board’s July 26, 2016 meeting:


Nildalis Caraballo, Principal of Wahneta Elementary
Ms. Caraballo previously served as an assistant principal for Eagle Lake Elementary. She has a bachelor’s degree in social work from Northeastern Illinois University, and a master’s in educational leadership from Saint Leo University.


Tami Dawson, Secondary Regional Assistant Superintendent
Ms. Dawson previously served as principal of Lake Gibson High. She has a bachelor’s degree in secondary English education, and a master’s degree from the University of South Florida.


Jill Dorsett, Assistant Principal of Lake Alfred-Addair Middle
Ms. Dorsett previously served as principal of Central Charter School in Lauderdale Lakes. She has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and a master’s degree from the University of Southern Mississippi.


Kenneth Iiames, Assistant Principal of Boone Middle
Mr. Iiames previously held the title of Assistant Principal II at Boone Middle. He has a bachelor’s degree in social science education, and a master’s in educational leadership from the University of South Florida.


Bryan Kim, Principal of Crystal Lake Elementary
Mr. Kim previously served as the acting principal of Crystal Lake Elementary. He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh and a master’s degree from Nova Southeastern University.


Tony Kirk, Director of Employee Relations
Mr. Kirk previously served as the district’s acting director of employee relations. He has a bachelor’s degree in human resources management, and a master’s in total quality management from Friends University.


Swanyetta Perry, Assistant Principal of Crystal Lake Elementary
Ms. Perry previously served as an acting assistant principal at Crystal Lake Elementary. She has a bachelor’s degree from Warner University and a master’s degree from National Louis University.


Chabre Timmons, Principal of Gibbons Street Elementary
Ms. Timmons previously served as an assistant principal for Gibbons Street Elementary. She has a bachelor’s degree in business, and a master’s in educational leadership from Stetson University.


Michelle Townley, Elementary Regional Assistant Superintendent
Ms. Townley previously served as the district’s senior director of K-12 reading/writing. She has a bachelor’s degree in speech communication and educational studies, and a master’s in educational leadership and policy studies from the University of South Florida.


Amy Weingarth, Principal of Highland City Elementary
Ms. Weingarth previously served as an assistant principal for Churchwell Elementary. She has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, and a master’s in educational leadership from the University of South Florida.
