Free Parent University Event Coming to Bartow on Feb. 11

The next Parent University will be held on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017 from 9 a.m. to noon at Spessard Holland Elementary in Bartow, 2342 E.F. Griffin Road.

The free event is open to all families with children who attend Polk County Public Schools.

Parent University features informational booths, learning stations with activities, Q&A forums and student performances. The event offers a convenient way to learn about educational resources for parents and students, volunteer opportunities, school tutoring, literacy programs and much more.

Parent University is being held in conjunction with the All County Reads family literacy event, with the theme “Adventures in Learning.”

Free transportation is available from the following school locations: Boone Middle, Mulberry Middle, Sleepy Hill Elementary and Wahneta Elementary. To request transportation or find out more about Parent University, please visit www.polk-fl.net and enter the keyword “Parent U.”

Parent University is a collaborative community effort led by Polk County’s Federal Programs department and other parent involvement contacts within the school district to help parents become full partners in their children’s education.
