Emerging Scientists Demonstrate Formula for Success at PRSEF

February 24, 2017

The 33rd annual Polk Regional Science and Engineering Fair (PRSEF) took place February 16 -17.

PRSEF provides an opportunity for students in grades 6-12 to showcase their independent research in areas of science, engineering and mathematics.  Students are selected after competing at their school fairs.

This year’s event featured more than 230 projects from 26 public, private and charter schools.

Students’ projects were evaluated by a team of volunteer judges with thorough knowledge of the relevant subject areas. PRSEF winners have a chance to win special awards that include certificates, monetary prizes, and the opportunity to compete at state and international science fairs.

Congratulations to the following Polk County Public School students who won first place awards and good luck to Prerna Ravinder and Grady Daniels who won Best of Show and will compete at the International Science Fair in Los Angeles this May.
